All the best drinks begin with a good story, and the Negroni Sbagliato is no different. It all started in Milan, when a bartender made a mistake.

The story of the Negroni Spagliato began when a bartender in Milan, who was making a Negroni, accidentally grabbed a bottle of sparkling wine instead of gin. This mistake gave birth to the Negroni Sbagliato, due to the fact that sbagliato means "mistaken" in Italian. Regardless of its origin, it's quite delicious! The Prosecco lightens it up a bit, which makes it a perfect afternoon cocktail for those days when you're feeling particularly Italian. Read on to learn how to make a perfect Negroni Spagliato cocktail!


How to make a Negroni Spagliato

Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 oz Campari

  • 1 1/2 oz Vermouth

  • 1 1/2 oz Prosecco

  • Lemon or orange slices for garnish


 

Directions:

  1. Fill a glass half full with ice.

  2. Pour Campari and Vermouth over the ice.

  3. Top with Prosecco and stir gently just a few times to combine.

  4. Garnish with lemon or orange slices.

 

Serve in:

Wine glass, or tall tumbler.
