Created in New Orleans during World War II, this deliciously dangerous cocktail may not have been invented at a beach, but it has certainly earned a spot on this list of beachy cocktails. The sweet, fruity flavor is surprisingly deceptive and if made correctly, this boozy punch will look and taste like a party in a glass. But if you're not careful, it will hit you like the tropical storm it's named after!
2 oz Dark Rum
2 oz Light Rum
2 oz Passion Fruit Juice
1 oz Orange Juice
1 oz Pineapple Juice
1 oz Lime Juice
1/2 oz Simple Syrup
1/2 oz Grenadine
Oranges, Pineapple, or Cherries
Combine all liquid ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake to combine.
Pour in a tall glass over ice.
Garnish with fresh fruit.
Find a seat and enjoy. You won't be standing long after you've had a few of these!
Hurricane glass, mason jar, or any tall cocktail glass
